While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Khaleel Al-'Hayya: Our people continue to write a new history with their resistance

Monday 7-October-2024

DOHA, (PIC)

Senior member of Hamas’ Political Bureau, Khaleel Al-'Hayya, reiterated in a statement issued Sunday, that the Palestinian resistance remains resolute in its mission to liberate the land and people, declaring that what was rejected in the past will not be accepted today.

Marking the first anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, Al-'Hayya reflected on the ongoing Palestinian struggle, noting that “a year later, our people continue to write a new chapter of history with their resistance, blood, and steadfastness.”

He emphasized that any gains Israel could not achieve through force will not be granted through negotiations.

He stressed that the operation shattered “the Zionist entity’s perceived military superiority, as fighters from the Al-Qassam Brigades and other factions carried out heroic acts that have changed the balance of power.”

Al-'Hayya further pointed to the increasing resistance in the West Bank, where Palestinians are pushing back against Israeli settlement expansion and Judaization efforts.

He further highlighted the recent Jaffa operation as one of the latest examples of this ongoing resistance.

“Our objective is clear,” Al-'Hayya said. “We seek the complete liberation of our land and holy sites, the establishment of a sovereign, independent Palestinian state, and the return of refugees to their homeland.”

Al-'Hayya praised the unwavering support of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance, which has been involved in the struggle since day one. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Lebanese, including thousands of martyrs and wounded, noting that Israel’s aggression has turned Lebanon into a key front in the conflict.

“We are united in this battle,” he said, addressing the Lebanese people and their resistance fighters. “Blood is blood, and destruction is destruction. The blood of our leaders, including Isma'eel Haniyya and 'Hasan Nasrullah, has forged a new dawn for our nation with Al-Aqsa at its heart and Jerusalem as its destination.”

Al-'Hayya extended his gratitude to Yemen’s Ansarullah for their steadfast support, both in terms of military action and the millions who have shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He noted that the missile and drone strikes launched by Yemen’s resistance forces have significantly shifted the battle’s dynamics, striking deep into the heart of Israeli territory.

He also commended the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support, pointing to recent missile strikes in retaliation for Israel’s targeted killings of 'Hasan Nasrullah and leader Isma'eel Haniyya on Iranian soil. Al-'Hayya described Iran’s actions as reshaping the battlefield, likening their missiles to “meteors filling the skies over occupied Palestine.”

Al-'Hayya also highlighted the drone and missile strikes from Iraq. He stressed that Iraq, both in its present and historical role, is deeply embedded in the Palestinian cause.

Al-'Hayya called on the Arab and Islamic nations to translate their solidarity into concrete action, saying, “We appreciate your noble feelings towards our people, but now is the time for roaring resistance from east to west.”

In a message to the international community, Al-'Hayya urged an end to silence, warning that continued inaction would only allow further Israeli aggression.

“Enough with the silence,” he stated, “as it only perpetuates the aggression against our people and the Lebanese. Israel is the epicenter of evil and destruction in the region, and the source of its instability.”

He concluded by expressing confidence in the future of the Palestinian struggle, stating that past efforts have laid a strong foundation on which Palestinians can build their future. “What we have previously achieved serves as an important foundation for what comes next,” Al-'Hayya affirmed.

IOFs elite force soldier killed as Hezbollah continues to defend land

By Al-Mayadeen English Source: Israeli media

7 Oct 2024at 08:39 am local Beirut time

The Israeli occupation has admitted to the death of a first sergeant and the injury of two others during a battle along the northern border with Lebanon.

The Israeli occupation military acknowledged on Monday the killing of a first sergeant, Master Sgt. (res.) Etay Azulay, 25, of the elite 5515 combat mobility unit, during confrontations in the north on the border with Lebanon.

The Israeli occupation also admitted that two soldiers from Unit 5515 of the 98th Division were also wounded in the battle.

According to an initial IOF probe, the soldiers were hit by a mortar.

This development underscores Hezbollah's ongoing confrontations with Israeli occupation forces, as the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon continues to hold the front lines, thwarting repeated attempts by the Israeli occupation to infiltrate Lebanese territory.

Al-Mayadeen's correspondent in South Lebanon confirmed on Sunday evening that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon successfully forced an Israeli force to retreat toward occupied Palestine amid intense confrontations, as the enemy attempted to infiltrate the border town of Yaroun.

The correspondent further reported that loud confrontations, punctuated by explosions, echoed through the neighboring villages, intensifying the atmosphere of tension in the area.

;Hizbullah had earlier forced an Israeli military unit to retreat following their attempted infiltration of Khallet Shuaib, inflicting confirmed casualties in the process.

A field officer from the Islamic Resistance operations room revealed late Saturday night the details of an ambush in the border town of Odaisseh. The operation led to around 15 Israeli soldiers being killed or injured, with their screams and cries of pain echoing across the region during the attack.

Since the onset of the ground offensive toward southern Lebanese villages, the Resistance has reported the killing of over 25 elite Israeli officers and soldiers, along with more than 130 injuries. While the Israeli occupation has acknowledged some of these losses, much of the truth remains concealed from the public, with more revelations expected in the coming days, according to a resistance officer.

'Hizbullah missiles impact Haifa city, IOFs admit many dead and injured

By Al-Mayadeen English Source: Al Mayadeen

7 Oct 2024 02:37 am Beirut local time

Israeli media reports confirm injuries and damage to numerous homes and vehicles in Haifa city due to missiles launched from Lebanon, as the Israeli military admits it failed to intercept any of the incoming projectiles.

Image shows the moment of impact of missiles launched by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, on the Israeli-occupied city of Haifa, occupied Palestine, on October 7, 2024. (Social media)

Israeli media and platforms have reported injuries and substantial damage in Haifa city following a barrage of missiles launched from Lebanon late on Sunday into early Monday, October 7. The Israeli occupation forces' spokesperson confirmed that "no missile from the volley aimed at Haifa was intercepted," highlighting a significant breach in Israeli security.

Footage from the scene captured multiple missiles striking buildings in the occupied city, leading to massive explosions.

In turn, Channel 12, an Israeli news channel, also reported on the incident, detailing the arrival of six injuries at Rambam Hospital in Haifa, including one serious injury following missile impacts in Tabarayya as well.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon stated that had launched a barrage of Fadi 1-typed missiles targeting the Carmel base south of Haifa. This operation was announced as part of the Resistance's Khaybar operations series, conducted in retaliation for ongoing attacks on civilians in Lebanon and the atrocities committed by Israeli occupation forces.

Exclusive: Hezbollah forces IOF to withdraw after infiltration attempt

Al-Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon confirmed on Sunday evening that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah forced an Israeli force to withdraw towards occupied Palestine and out of Lebanese territory as they tried to infiltrate the border town of Yaroun.

Loud sounds of confrontations, interspersed with explosions, were heard in the neighboring villages, an Al Mayadeen correspondent added.

Our correspondent stated that Yaroun, which has been targeted by the Israeli occupation with bombardment for about a year, represents a “geographical and military weak point for the occupation,” explaining that the latter carries out ground attacks in the town, but is unable to establish positions within in.

The report from Al Mayadeen's correspondent coincides with Hezbollah's continued confrontation with the IOF on the frontlines, as it targeted, on Sunday, the gatherings of occupation soldiers in Khallet Shuaib, east of the town of Blida, with artillery shells.

Hezbollah had previously forced a force of Israeli soldiers to retreat when they tried to infiltrate Khallet Shuaib, causing confirmed casualties.

After reports of a "substantial security incident" in the al-Jalil Panhandle emerged early on Saturday, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah revealed that what had occurred was a major ambush near the Lebanese-Palestinian border.

Although the Israeli military censor has imposed strict restrictions on information in combat zones, Israeli media outlets reported heavy gunfire and the deployment of attack helicopters near the city settlement of Kiryat Shmona.

The developments were obscured due to the little information allowed to be published by the Israeli regime, however, statements released by the Resistance's Military Media Unit revealed that fighters had been confronting Israeli ground forces deep into the night.

At 11:00 pm (local time) on Friday, Hezbollah fighters monitored an Israeli ground force, which was attempting an incursion into the border town of Odeissah. The force was ambushed and subsequently armed clashes erupted in the area, which has seen intense fighting in the past few days.

Odeissah also witnessed the killing of at least nine Israeli officers and soldiers from the 98th Division's Egoz Unit and the Yahalom Unit on Thursday.

2 IOFs soldiers killed, 24 injured in Iraq drone attack on Golan

By Al Mayadeen English Source: Israeli media

4 Oct 2024 19:56 pm Beirut local time

The Israeli occupation army has admitted that two soldiers were killed and 24 others injured in a drone strike launched from Iraq early Thursday morning.

The Israeli occupation army reported on Friday that two soldiers were killed and 24 others injured in a drone strike carried out from Iraq early a couple of days ago.

The Israeli military spokesperson announced, under the "permitted to publish" clause, that two soldiers from the Golani Brigade, Battalion 13, were killed when a drone launched from Iraq exploded in a military base in the Golan.

An investigation by the Israeli army revealed that the attack involved two explosive-laden drones launched from Iraq. One drone was intercepted by air defenses, while the second struck an army base in the northern Golan Heights a few minutes later, as per the army.

Abu 'Obayda lauds operation

Commenting on the operation, Al-Qassam Brigades military spokesperson Abu 'Obayda saluted "our brethren" in the Iraqi Islamic Resistance for supporting our Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist aggression, saying, "We commend their top-tier operation that targeted the occupation forces in the occupied Golan with drones, resulting in deaths and injuries."

He further highlighted that the operations they carry out convey a message to the Israeli occupation that "your persistence in your aggression will bring you more losses and setbacks until you are driven out of our land, God willing."

No warning; utter failure

The Israeli Army Radio said there was no prior warning to the soldiers as an (Iraqi) drone exploded inside a base, killing two soldiers and wounding 23 others from the Golani Brigade, detailing that the drone entered the Golan Heights airspace on Wednesday night coming from Iraq.

The radars failed to detect it, it maintained

Israeli media reported that sirens were activated across the Golan as a result of the Iraqi attack. However, the investigation indicated a failure to detect the second drone in time, resulting in no alerts being issued and leaving the soldiers at the base without sufficient time to take cover, as per Israeli media.

It is worth noting that Israeli media platforms have released a photo showing damage to the base targeted by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq early Monday.

One platform acknowledged that the threat posed by Iraq to "Israel" is significant. It also noted that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has "launched dozens, if not hundreds, of drones and cruise missiles."

Iraqi Resistance conducts three operations against Israeli targets

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced the execution of multiple operations against the Israeli occupation on Friday morning.

In a statement, the Resistance declared that it successfully "struck three targets in distinct operations aimed at the Golan Heights and Tabarayya in northern occupied Palestine, using drones."

The operations carried out by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq were a continuation of their commitment to resisting the Israeli occupation "in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon."

Additionally, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq pledged to "intensify operations focused on dismantling enemy strongholds with heightened vigor."

On Thursday, The Iraqi Resistance announced that it attacked an Israeli target in the south of occupied Palestine via an aircraft with advanced capabilities deployed for the first time. In a statement, the Islamic Resistance affirmed that its fighters will continue to use this technology "to strike enemy strongholds with increasing intensity."

The Resistance said the operation was "in continuation of our approach to resist the occupation, in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly."

Al-Mayadeen's information highlighted that the new aircraft deployed by the Iraqi Resistance enjoys higher flight speed and huge explosive capabilities and is designed for maneuvering to bypass air defenses for quick infiltration.

Gaza factions: Al-Aqsa Flood paved the way for the liberation of Palestine

Monday 7-October-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

In a statement on the first anniversary of Operation “al-Aqsa Flood,” the Joint Operations Room of the Palestinian Resistance Factions has described the October 7th events as the battle that has “changed the face of the region and paved the way for the liberation of Palestine.”

“The cross-border operation on October 7 and the ensuing events have represented a turning point in the struggle of the Palestinian people and the Ummah and a major junction that has smeared the image of the usurping entity and destroyed once and for all the theory of deterrence that it had tried to impose [in the region] since its inception,” the factions’ operations room stated.

“Al-Aqsa Flood battle started in Gaza, but its impacts spread across the globe, opening the door for the Ummah’s free resistance fighters to join forces with Palestine’s fighters and defenders as a step on the path to liberating Palestine,” the operations room added.

Mahathir: Al-Aqsa Flood blew up the Israeli narrative, renewed the Umma's awareness

Monday 7-October-2024

ISTANBUL, (PIC)

The former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mu'hammed said on Sunday that the Al-Aqsa Flood that took place on October 7 of last year has led to the “collapse of the Israeli narrative and renewed the nation’s awareness.”

Mahathir delivered a speech at the opening of the 7th Kuala Lumpur Conference for Thought and Civilization, in Istanbul, entitled “Palestine: The Linchpin of Civilization Renaissance,” a three-day conference marking one year of Israel’s war on Gaza.

Mahathir, who is the president of the forum, said in a recorded speech that the forum, since its establishment, has not been limited to its primary goal, which is to gather thinkers and academics interested in the affairs of the Umma (the Muslim Community).

Mahathir said, “October 7 marks a significant day as on this day, Palestinians resolved to send a message to the world that they are determined to liberate their land, rejecting the ongoing blockade, expanding settlements, and the imposition of apartheid policies on Palestinians.”

The October 7 has led to awareness among people in all over the world as seen in the demonstrations of the US and European university students in addition to the positions of some countries, including the historic stand of South Africa in the International Court of Justice, he added.

Mahathir stressed that “the time has come for all Muslims to set aside their differences, because the least we can do while we feel helpless is to damn Israel, the US and their Western allies as well as all those who are complicit in their crimes against humanity.”

Israel’s genocidal war destroys 86% of Gaza buildings

Monday 7-October-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Isma'eel Al-Thawabta, the Director General of the Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO), confirmed that 86% of the buildings in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed due to Israel’s dropping of tens of tons of explosives equivalent to 5 nuclear bombs over the course of an entire year. This has also resulted in more than 150,000 casualties, including 51,800 martyrs and missing persons.

In a press conference in Gaza on Monday, Thawabta said, “It has been a full year of crimes and genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation army against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, a full year of killing, extermination, destruction, and forced displacement, crimes that are sponsored by the American administration and forces of global oppression.”

Martyrs and injured He added, “For an entire year, the occupation army has continued to kill more victims, especially children and women, without justification. We have reached over 150,000 victims, including more than 51,800 martyrs and missing persons. Over 41,800 martyrs have reached hospitals, while more than 10,000 martyrs remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings, and there are missing persons whose fate we do not know.”

He noted that the occupation has killed more than 16,000 Palestinian children, including 171 infants who were born and martyred during the genocidal war. Additionally, more than 11,400 women have been martyred.

The occupation has also wiped out 902 Palestinian families, killing all their members and erasing them from the civil registry, in a crime that shames humanity, the GMO head said.

He continued, “For a full year, the American administration has provided the occupation with all kinds of weapons, bombs, missiles, and aircraft to completely wipe out residential blocks and neighborhoods, in more than 3,600 brutal massacres.”

He added, “For an entire year, the international community, UN organizations, world countries, and Arab and Islamic countries have watched the flowing river of blood in the Gaza Strip without taking any action and without a practical stance regarding this historical catastrophe in modern times.”

Two million displaced He warned that more than two million displaced people live in harsh conditions, facing extreme difficulties where all means of living and dignified life are absent. Many diseases are spreading among them, the most dangerous of which are polio, viral hepatitis, skin, respiratory, and digestive diseases, leading to a natural death rate more than six and a half times higher than before the war of genocide.

He said, “For an entire year, the occupation army has deliberately targeted shelters and displacement centers, bombing 187 such centers and killing more than 1,060 martyrs inside them. These displaced people have seen 100,000 tents deteriorate over a year filled with suffering, tragedy, and crime. They are waiting for the international community to provide them with housing to escape the summer heat and the coming winter cold, having issued numerous humanitarian appeals with no response.”

The siege Thawabta pointed out that the occupation army continues to close the crossings to and from the Gaza Strip, enforcing an unjust siege, preventing the entry of medicines and medical supplies, and blocking the transfer of 25,000 injured and sick individuals for treatment abroad, as part of Israel’s plan to destroy the health system and completely obliterate hospitals.

He continued, “For an entire year, the occupation army has killed and targeted the teams providing humanitarian services and civil protection. They have killed 85 civil defense officers, more than 700 Palestinian police officers, and 175 journalists and media personnel without any justifiable reasons, except for carrying out the genocide to the letter, desperately attempting to hide its features and impacts.”

Prisoners He also noted that the occupation army has detained 5,000 prisoners without any given reason, subjecting them to severe torture and killing 37 prisoners in custody through electric shocks and psychological and physical torture. “Among them, three doctors were executed in prisons: Dr. 'Adnan Al-Bursh, Dr. Iyad Al-Ranteesi, and Dr. Ziyad Al-Dalu, along with others from our great people who were killed in prisons without any visible role on the part of the international organizations that have failed in their duties.”

Destruction of education He mentioned the complete destruction of 125 universities and schools, and partial destruction of more than 337 others. Additionally, 750 teachers and educational staff have been killed, as well as 130 scholars, academics, and university professors, along with 12,700 students. More than 780,000 students have been deprived of education for the second consecutive year, while the world watches this catastrophe without taking any action.

Destruction of mosques According to Thawabta, the occupation army has completely destroyed 814 mosques and partially destroyed dozens more, as well as completely destroying three churches. For an entire year, it has desecrated 19 cemeteries, stealing 2,300 corpses from these graves, showing no respect for the humanity and sanctity of the dead and martyrs in a crime against humanity.

Destruction of residential buildings He pointed out that the occupation army has completely destroyed 150,000 housing units and severely damaged more than 80,000 units, rendering them uninhabitable. This brutal occupation has dropped more than 85,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip and residential neighborhoods, equivalent to over 5 nuclear bombs.

He added, “The occupation army has destroyed more than 3,000 kilometers of electricity networks, over 330,000 meters of water networks, more than 655,000 meters of sewage networks, and over 2,835 kilometers of roads and streets across all governorates of the Gaza Strip.”

Destruction of archaeological sites Thawabta also mentioned the destruction of more than 200 archaeological and heritage sites, and for an entire year, the occupation army has destroyed more than 35 facilities, playgrounds, and sports halls in the Gaza Strip.

He confirmed that the destruction rate in the Gaza Strip has reached 86% due to Israel’s aggression, without any action from the world. The preliminary direct losses from this genocide and war amount to 35 billion dollars, marking a stain on the conscience of humanity and on the unjust world that stands idly by in the face of this unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

Ethnic cleansing He affirmed that the historical genocide being carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip clearly demonstrates the extermination and ethnic cleansing being executed against the Palestinian people.

The GMO director emphasized the involvement of the American administration in this crime alongside a group of European countries and others that have betrayed humanity, stressing that future generations will never forget this bloody history of the occupation, which is an extension of English, French, German, and American occupations, where the end of these historical occupations has always been liberation and salvation.

De-Gaza: A year of Israel’s genocide and the collapse of world order

Monday 7-October-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has released a comprehensive report marking one year since Israel launched its genocidal campaign against the Palestinian civilian population in the Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023. During this period, Israel has committed grave war crimes, with the explicit complicity of the international community.

Titled De-Gaza: A Year of Israel’s Genocide and the Collapse of World Order, the report details the most prominent crimes committed over the past 12 months, thoroughly documented by Euro-Med field teams. It traces the clear elements of genocide perpetrated by the Israeli army, explores the legal frameworks defining the crime of genocide, and scrutinizes both the context and ongoing circumstances. The report also addresses the international judiciary’s response, and, significantly, the global community’s complicit role in allowing the genocide to continue.

The report sheds light on the appalling conditions and systematic atrocities Israel has inflicted upon the occupied Palestinian territory, with a particular focus on the Gaza Strip. These long-standing crimes include the illegal blockade, the deliberate isolation of Gaza from the rest of the Palestinian territory and the world, the systematic deprivation of basic human rights to the Strip’s residents, and the deliberate destruction of essential services.

Since the start of the genocide in Gaza, more than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli army, including around 42,000 recorded by the Gaza Ministry of Health, the majority being women and children. In addition, approximately 100,000 have been injured, with thousands of bodies still lying under the rubble and in the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams.

An estimated 10 per cent of Gaza’s population has been killed, injured, reported missing, or detained as a result of Israeli military assaults. Of the 50,292 Palestinians killed—including those still buried under the debris—33 per cent were women, and 21 per cent were children. Thousands more have been forcibly detained, with 3,600 still languishing in various Israeli prisons and detention centers.

Around 3,500 families have suffered multiple losses since October 2023. Of these, 365 families have lost more than ten members, while over 2,750 families have lost at least three.

The report details the systematic acts of genocide committed in Gaza, such as the targeted killing of civilians in homes, shelters, displacement camps, and humanitarian-declared zones. Civilians were also killed by military vehicles and tanks, in field executions, through drone strikes, in crowded markets, and even while waiting for aid at relief trucks.

The report notes the Israeli military’s starvation tactics, the deliberate killing of prisoners and detainees, and the assassination of humanitarian workers, qualified professionals, and Palestinian elites.

The Israeli army employs explicit methods designed to inflict severe physical and psychological trauma on the population. These include launching thousands of systematic military assaults on civilians, dramatically increasing deaths among people of reproductive age, separating families, targeting the healthcare system, and imposing brutal living conditions marked by starvation and malnutrition.

The obstruction of humanitarian aid further exacerbates these atrocities, creating life-threatening situations for thousands.

The root cause of this persecution—the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory since 1967—has created conditions for the ongoing genocide, as confirmed by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in its advisory opinion of 19 July 2024, on the legal consequences arising from Israeli policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Both the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip are internationally recognized as Palestinian territories that were occupied in 1967.

Up until 2005, the Israeli occupation army maintained internal and external control over Gaza by stationing military forces within and outside the Strip, establishing settlements on its land, a situation still seen in the West Bank today.

In 2005, Israel declared a unilateral “disengagement,” evacuating its settlers from Gaza and withdrawing its military forces. However, despite this declaration, Israel continued to exercise control over Gaza, maintaining real authority over critical aspects of governance. The ICJ upheld this position in a recent advisory opinion, reflecting the near-universal international consensus on Israel’s continued occupation.

Even after its military withdrawal, Israel retained control over the essential governing elements of Gaza, including its population registry, borders (land, sea, and air), and the regulation of movement for both people and goods. Israel also continued to collect taxes on imports and exports and maintained control over the buffer zone.

Following the 7 October 2023 attack, Israel declared a state of war, with its President, Prime Minister, and other political and military leaders at the forefront. The declared aim was to eliminate Hamas, secure the release of hostages, and restore security. Thus began Operation Iron Swords, a brutal military offensive that intensified the suffering of Gaza’s civilians.

Euro-Med Monitor concluded with a set of recommendations after a year of genocide in Gaza, emphasizing that all states, both individually and collectively, are still obligated to work towards stopping the ongoing genocide by all available means. Preventing and punishing this crime is an international legal obligation incumbent upon all states without exception, and it is an obligation of absolute authority towards all.

Euro-Med Monitor calls for the imposition of a total arms embargo on Israel, the termination of all licenses and agreements related to arms imports and exports (including dual-use materials and technology that could be used against Palestinians), and an end to all military and intelligence cooperation.

In addition to imposing travel restrictions and freezing Israeli government assets, Euro-Med Monitor calls for political and economic sanctions on Israel and its accomplice states. These measures are intended to pressure the responsible parties into upholding international law, ensuring non-recurrence of crimes against Palestinians, and compensating the victims of these atrocities.

The organization further calls for halting all forms of support to Israel in connection with its genocide and other crimes against Palestinians. This includes withholding investments, cancelling or suspending political, diplomatic, economic, commercial, and academic ties, and curtailing support from the media, legal, and other sectors that might contribute to the continuation of these crimes.

Key measures include ensuring the Israeli occupation army’s full withdrawal from Gaza, dismantling all military installations, barricades, and checkpoints, ending the imposed military and geographical divisions, restoring the Strip’s geographical unity, and guaranteeing the safe and swift return of forcibly displaced individuals to their homes. Furthermore, the recommendations call for the protection of freedom of movement, travel, and access for all citizens of Gaza.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
