While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

US deploys THAAD  defense systems to Israel amid Iran tension

Anadolu, Reuters

 Saturday, October 12, 2024, 1830 GMT —

The Israeli military announced that the US has deployed the THAAD anti-ballistic missile defense system in Israel amid tensions with Iran.

Israeli Army Radio described the move as part of preparations for the expected Israeli response to Iran’s recent missile attack.

However, American officials, according to reporters for the Walla news site and KAN public broadcaster, have said the US has yet to make a final decision on whether to deploy the THAAD anti-missile defense system in Israel.

While it is described as the "first" such deployment, the US announced a temporary deployment of THAAD in March 2019 as part of joint defense exercises.

It remains unclear whether the current deployment will be permanent.

THAAD, developed by Lockheed Martin, is a defensive weapon intended to intercept high-altitude short and medium-range ballistic missiles.

US to transfer THAAD system to 'Israel' despite warnings

By Al-Mayadeen English

12 Oct 2024, at 23:15 Beirut local time

The decision comes as regional tensions have escalated, particularly after Iran's recent retaliatory strike on "Israel".

The US is planning the immediate transfer of the THAAD missile defense system to "Israel" in response to "increasing threats of ballistic missile attacks from Iran", Ynet reported on Saturday.

The decision comes as regional tensions have escalated, particularly after Iran's recent retaliatory strike on "Israel".

It also comes in spite of US warnings urging "Israel" to avoid targeting critical Iranian infrastructure, including nuclear and oil facilities, amid concerns that such an escalation could destabilize the region further.

Tehran is reportedly bracing for a possible response from "Israel" after reports emerged suggesting that the Israeli leadership has agreed to strike back.

Targeting Nuclear Sites or Oil Fields?

In the context of a potential Israeli counter-strike against Iran, former US President Donald Trump has strongly advocated for targeting Iran's nuclear facilities.

Trump believes that taking out these facilities should be the top priority in order to neutralize what he views as a "critical threat".

On the other hand, President Joe Biden  suggested that "Israel" should consider alternatives to striking Iranian oil sites, such as sanctions, while noting that "Israel" has not yet decided on a course of action.

On Thursday, Bloomberg reported that he cautioned "Israel" not to attack Iran's nuclear installations, urging instead the imposal of sanctions.

Gulf states urge US to stop 'Israel' from attacking Iranian oil sites

On Thursday, three Gulf sources told Reuters that Gulf states are urging Washington to prevent "Israel" from bombing Iran's oil assets, fearing the targeting of their oil facilities by the Axis of Resistance.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar are refusing to allow "Israel" to fly over their airspace for any attack on Iran and have informed Washington of this, according to three government sources.   During discussions this week, Iran warned Saudi Arabia that if "Israel" was given any aid in carrying out an assault, the Kingdom's oil infrastructure would be at risk, according to a senior Iranian official and an Iranian diplomat.

Ali Shihabi, a Saudi expert close to the Saudi royal court, divulged that "the Iranians have stated: 'If the Gulf states open up their airspace to Israel, that would be an act of war.'"

According to the diplomat, Tehran has delivered a clear warning to Riyadh that its allies in Iraq and Yemen may retaliate if "Israel" receives regional backing against Iran.

A Gulf source close to government circles told Reuters that the Iranian Foreign Minister's visit to Riyadh and the Saudi-American discussions at the defense ministry level are part of a concerted effort to handle the problem.

A person familiar with the conversations in Washington acknowledged that Gulf officials had communicated with their colleagues in the United States to express worry about the possible breadth of Israeli retaliation.

Jonathan Panikoff, former deputy US national intelligence officer for the Middle East and currently at the Atlantic Council think tank, believes that the "Gulf states' anxiety is likely to be a key talking point with Israeli counterparts in trying to convince Israel to undertake a carefully calibrated response."

OPEC, led by Saudi Arabia, has enough spare oil capacity to cover any losses from Iranian supply delays, but if Saudi Arabia or the UAE's oil infrastructures are also targeted, the world oil supply might be jeopardized.

"The Gulf states aren't letting Israel use their airspace. They won't allow Israeli missiles to pass through, and there's also a hope that they won't strike the oil facilities," according to the Gulf source.

"The Gulf states aren't letting Israel use their airspace. They won't allow Israeli missiles to pass through, and there's also a hope that they won't strike the oil facilities," according to the Gulf source.

Despite recent Saudi-Iranian reconciliation, the United States military presence in Gulf states is noticeable. Concerns over oil security and regional warfare have affected negotiations between Emirati authorities and the United States, particularly after Yemen's Ansar Allah launched missile assaults on UAE oil facilities.

Gulf sources told Reuters that protecting all oil sites remained a difficulty, thus the key approach remained to signal to Iran that Gulf states represent no danger.

Sanctions in lieu of hitting Iran oil facilities: US offer to 'Israel'

President Joe Biden has cautioned "Israel" not to attack Iran's nuclear installations, and US officials are concerned that an assault on the country's energy infrastructure may destabilize energy markets, Bloomberg reported. However, with the Israeli response against Iran likely at any time, the US has little confidence that the situation would not worsen further.

After Iran's Operation True Promise 2, Biden is desperately attempting to confine any Israeli response to military targets such as air bases and missile installations. To this end, rather than "Israel" targeting oil facilities or other economic targets, the US is offering options such as a new wave of economic sanctions, according to anonymous individuals familiar with the situation.

The US strategy is to provide Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with an out, allowing him to reject calls from hardliners in his coalition for considerably harsher reprisal. It remains to be seen if he will accept it, especially considering that the Biden administration has so far refused to impose its views by suspending military aid to the occupation.

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign wants to avoid the controversy from draining support in crucial states, particularly Michigan, which has a sizable Arab and Muslim American community. Netanyahu, who has openly boasted about his strong ties with Republican nominee Donald Trump, has shown little interest in helping her.

According to Ali Vaez, Iran Project Director at the International Crisis Group, "Escalation in the region helps Trump, which is also good for Bibi because it means not just four more weeks of unrestrained behavior, but four years of no American pressure."

On Wednesday, Biden and Netanyahu spoke for the first time in almost a month, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre describing the call as "direct" and "productive". It happened after Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant postponed a visit to the United States. An Israeli official, who requested anonymity to discuss the subject, said Netanyahu instructed Gallant not to leave until his cabinet authorized its response to Iran.

Gallant on Wednesday vowed that “our attack on Iran will be deadly, precise and above all surprising. They will not understand what happened and how it happened. They will see the results.”

Gallant misled the public into believing Iran's strike was a failure, something widely debunked in recent reports.

Biden, Harris engage Netanyahu on 'Israel’s' attack on Iran

By Al-Mayadeen English

Source: Axios, 10 Oct 2024, at 09:24 Beirut local time

The phone call marks the first conversation since August, as "Israel" considers a significant military action that could escalate into a full-blown regional war, with the potential for more civilian casualties.

President Biden spoke on the phone Wednesday morning with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and discussed "Israel's" plans to retaliate against Iran, Axios reported.

Vice President Harris also joined the call, the White House said.

The call was the first between Biden and Netanyahu since August 21, and it comes as "Israel" considers a major attack against Iran that could lead the Middle East into a full-blown war, resulting in further loss of life in the region.

In a related development, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the call lasted 30 minutes and was "direct and productive."

"On Lebanon, the president emphasized the need for a diplomatic arrangement to safely return both Lebanese and Israeli civilians to their homes on both sides of the Blue Line," the White House said in a readout.

Biden reaffirmed "Israel's" right to defend itself but allegedly emphasized the importance of minimizing civilian casualties, especially in the densely populated areas of Beirut.   It is worth noting that "Israel" has been bombing Lebanon daily, using internationally banned weapons, resulting in the killing of civilians, significant destruction, and reducing residential areas to rubble.

"On Gaza, the leaders discussed the urgent need to renew diplomacy to release the hostages held by Hamas. The President also discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the imperative to restore access to the north, including by reinvigorating the corridor from Jordan immediately, " as per the White House.

Biden said in a conference call with Jewish American rabbis later Wednesday that the US "fully supports Israel's right to defend itself against Iran and its proxies."

Netanyahu and top officials plan major retaliation against Iran

Netanyahu held a lengthy meeting with senior ministers and the heads of "Israel’s" military and intelligence services on Tuesday night to discuss the extent and timing of planned strikes, according to two Israeli officials as cited by Axios.

The Israeli attack on Iran is expected to be substantial, with officials indicating that it will likely involve a combination of airstrikes on "military targets in Iran and covert operations", similar to the one that resulted in the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Netanyahu is set to convene the security cabinet on Thursday. Under Israeli law, he must secure a cabinet vote for significant military actions, especially those that could escalate into full-scale war with Iran.

The big picture

The conversation between Biden and Netanyahu occurred one week after Iran launched around 180 ballistic missiles at "Israel" in response to the assassination of senior officials from Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran by "Israel". Particularly, the retaliation was for the Israeli assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the heart of Tehran.

Tehran has stated that its retaliation will end unless "Israel" initiates further attacks. However, Tel Aviv has vowed to retaliate, and both US and Israeli officials expect the cycle of reprisals to continue, with the US and "Israel" needing to coordinate efforts to address potential Iranian responses, as per the report.

Israel launches airstrikes on southern Lebanese towns, 'Hizbullah attacks Israeli military gatherings

Saturday 12-October-2024

BEIRUT, (PIC)

'Hizbullah in Lebanon announced the shelling of the Soma base in the occupied Syrian Golan and several Israeli military sites with more than one hundred rockets in the past 24 hours, while the occupation forces continued their airstrikes on towns in southern Lebanon and the Biqaa' region in eastern Lebanon on Saturday.

'Hizbullah confirmed that it targeted, for the second time, Israeli occupation soldiers at the Fatima Gate with artillery fire, achieving direct hits. It also targeted gatherings of the Israeli occupation forces in a number of locations and a military position of the army in the Mi’iliya area in northern Israel.

In another statement, the party reported that it targeted an Israeli infantry unit and a bulldozer in Khirbat Zar’eet with artillery shells, hitting them directly. It also mentioned launching a guided missile at an Israeli military bulldozer achieving a direct hit.

Sirens sounded in the Upper Jaleel (Galilee), 'Arab Al-'Aramsha, and Adamit in northern Israel. The Israeli occupation army said that sirens were activated in several areas in central Israel after detecting two drones launched from Lebanon, one of which was intercepted by air defenses.

Israeli Channel 12 reported a power outage in Herzliya after sirens were activated and a drone incursion was suspected, while Israeli army radio confirmed that material damage occurred to a nursing home in the city following the fall of debris from an intercepting missile, with no injuries reported.

This comes as the Israeli army continued its airstrikes early this Saturday on areas in the western sector of southern Lebanon and towns in the central Bekaa region. It also targeted a site of the Lebanese army in the southern town of Kfarra, resulting in casualties.

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli artillery shelled the surroundings of the towns of Ramia and 'Aita Al-Sha'b in southern Lebanon. Israeli airstrikes targeted the Al-Salihani mountain area and the vicinity of the town of Al-Naqoura in southern Lebanon. Israeli artillery shelled several border towns in the districts of 'Hasbaya, Marji'youn, Bint Jubail, and Soor (Tyre) in southern Lebanon.

It was reported that the Israeli forces shelled the heights of the town of Janta near the Syrian border in eastern Lebanon, while Israeli aircraft conducted strikes on the towns of Nabi Sheet, Tamneen Al-Ta'hta, and 'Halaniya, as well as the vicinity of southern Baalbek.

More than one hundred rockets were launched yesterday, Friday, from Lebanon towards northern Israel. The Israeli occupation army stated that it detected the launch of about 80 rockets from Lebanon within just three minutes, intercepting several of them.

'Hizbullah announced that it carried out 24 attacks on 'Haifa, Safad, and towns in Al-Jaleel (Galilee), targeting gatherings of soldiers and Israeli military sites in Al-Jaleel (Galilee) and the occupied Syrian heights (Golan height). Mu'hammed 'Afeef, a media relations official, indicated that what is happening is just the beginning, and that Israel remains unable to advance in southern Lebanon.

Since September 23, Israel has targeted most areas of Lebanon with intensive airstrikes and has begun a ground incursion in the south. The Israeli airstrikes have resulted in 1,351 Lebanese martyrs and 3,811 injured, including a big number of women and children, as well as more than 1.2 million displaced persons.

Martyrs, injuries reported in renewed Israeli genocidal attacks on Lebanon

Saturday 12-October-2024

BEIRUT, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime army continued its bloody war on Lebanon for the 20th consecutive day, launching dozens of airstrikes, bombing homes and gatherings, and continuing attempts to advance across the border, amid fierce resistance from 'Hizbullah.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of one person and the injury of nine people in an initial toll of the Israeli raid on the town of Al-Maiysera in the Kisrawan District.

The National News Agency in Lebanon reported the martyrdom of four people and the injury of 14 others as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Barja area in Al-Kharroub District.

Meanwhile, a number of citizens were martyred, and others were injured in an Israeli attack that targeted a residential apartment in Mount Lebanon in central Lebanon.

The Lebanese News Agency said, Israeli warplanes launched several other raids on different locations in Lebanon, targeting residential apartments and houses.

The Lebanese ministry of health said that 26 citizens were martyred and 144 were wounded in the Israeli aggression over the past 24 hours.

Mayor of the bombed Lebanese town of Barja denies strike targeted 'Hizbullah center'

By Al-Mayadeen English Source: Agencies

12 Oct 2024, at 21:28 Beirut local time

The mayor of the southern Lebanese town of Barja denies that an Israeli airstrike targeted a Hezbollah center, saying it hit a residential building.

Brigadier General 'Hasan Sa'd, the mayor of Barja in Al-Shoaf region, dismissed on Saturday circulating rumors on social media claiming that an Israeli airstrike targeted a Hezbollah center in the town.

"There is no Hezbollah office in the town, and what was targeted was an occupied residential apartment," Sa'd underlined.

The fake rumors are in line with numerous lies about 'Hizbullah embedding itself in civilian areas and jeopardizing the lives of civilians, which has been repeatedly dismissed by the Resistance.

The head of Media Relations for 'Hizbullah, Mu'hammed Afeef, held a press conference on Friday in the Southern Suburb of Beirut, an area deeply affected by the Israeli occupation's aggression on Lebanon, and praised Lebanese journalists for their resilience in reporting Israeli crimes, particularly those working in South Lebanon.

Afeef commended the bravery of journalists and correspondents in conveying the truth amid intense Israeli censorship aimed at hiding its losses from Hezbollah's successful retaliatory strikes.

Afeef criticized certain local media outlets for promoting Israeli narratives as part of a psychological war against 'Hizbullah, its people, and allies. He expressed disappointment over the Lebanese government's inaction toward these outlets, which broadcast Israeli propaganda.

He dismissed Israeli claims of Hezbollah weapon depots as baseless, adding that the occupation forces were preventing rescue operations for those trapped under the rubble, particularly in Muraija, under US pressure, particularly from the ambassador.

The top Hezbollah official went on to condemn Israeli attacks on Beirut as a continuation of its broader crimes across the country and called out the international community's silence over the assault on UN forces in the south.

Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 372

Saturday 12-October-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 372nd consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens.

According to media sources, an Israeli warplane bombed a group of civilians near as-Salah Society in Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, killing two of them.

Rescuers also evacuated one martyr and a number of wounded citizens to the Kamal 'Udwan Hospital following Israeli attacks on two schools sheltering displaced families in Jabalya, north of Gaza.

Israeli drone genocidal airstrike kills six Palestinians, injuries others in Jabalya and Al-Maghazai Camps

GAZA, October 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

An Israeli army drone genocidal airstrike Saturday evening killed six Palestinian civilians and injured others in the Jabalya and Al-Maghazai refugee camps in the war-torn Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

They said that an Israeli army drone conducted an airstrike targeting a group of civilians in the vicinity of Al-Wusta center in Al-Maghazi refugee camp, killing two and injuring two others.

They added that Israeli fighter jets targeted a house belonging to the al-Harsh family in the Al-Yafawiya neighborhood in the Jabalya refugee camp, killing four civilians, including a woman, and injuring others, simultaneously while firing volleys of smoke bombs in the al-Jala Road.

Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets also targeted a house in the At-Tuffa'h neighborhood, east of Gaza City, as well as a group of civilians in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza, resulting in a number of casualties.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 42,175 Palestinians and injuring over 98,336 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Israel issues new evacuation orders for northern Gaza

GAZA, October 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces specifically demanded residents of Jabalya, Al-Nazla and the northern areas of of Gaza City, including the neighborhoods of Al-Saftawi and Al-Shaikh Radhwan, to leave immediately via Salahuddeen Street toward the south of the Gaza Strip.

This evacuation order affects hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom have already been displaced from Jabalya refugee camp and the surrounding towns of Bait Lahya and Bait 'Hanoun amid the wide-scale Israeli military incursion over the past week.

For the seventh consecutive day, the Israeli army has been conducting a brutal ground assault in northern Gaza, particularly focusing on Jabalya refugee camp, as well as the towns of Bait 'Hanoun and Bait Lahia.

Israel continues its wide-scale onslaught on Jabalya for seventh day, resulting in further casualties

GAZA, October 12, 2024 (WAFA) —

The Israeli occupation military continues its wide-scale onslaught and intense bombardment of the town of Jabalya and its refugee camp in northern Gaza for the seventh day in a row, resulting in dozens of casualties, including women and children.

Since this early morning, heavy Israeli shelling and missile strikes have left many civilians killed and injured in Jabalya, as well as in the nearby areas of Al-Safty and Al-Tawam, according to local and medical reports.

The humanitarian situation in Jabalya is deteriorating rapidly, with food, medical supplies, and water being blocked from entering the region. Emergency medical teams are struggling to reach the wounded and recover the bodies of those killed.

This morning, the Israeli military issued new evacuation orders for residents of Jabalya. However, many citizens are determined to remain in their homes rather than flee southward.

The current military assault, which began on October 6, follows one of the most intense assaults on northern Gaza since May of this year. This marks the third ground offensive conducted by Israeli forces in Jabalya since the outbreak of the Israeli genocidal onslaught on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The attacks have not only targeted residential areas but have also devastated infrastructure, isolating communities and destroying roads. A systematic campaign of starvation is underway, as access to essential supplies is severely restricted, including the targeting of bakeries.

Meantime, Israeli drones and fighter jets continue to fire indiscriminately at any visible movement on the ground, further exacerbating the chaos and fear among the civilian population.

By October 11, 2024, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in 42,150 documented Palestinian fatalities, with an additional 98,117 individuals sustaining injuries, the majority of whom are women and children.

200,000 Palestinians in Jabalya face life-threatening conditions amid ongoing Israeli genocidal siege

File photo

GAZA, October 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Approximately 200,000 Palestinians in the Jabalya area, north of the Gaza Strip, are facing imminent threats to their lives due to relentless Israeli genocidal bombardments and a dire lack of food and water. The region has been under a tight Israeli military siege for the seventh consecutive day.

The Palestinian Civil Defense reported in a statement that "Israeli forces have been surrounding Jabalya for a week, leaving residents without access to water, food, or basic necessities for survival."

Moreover, they highlighted that the Israeli occupation has denied medical teams and civil defense personnel the fuel and medical supplies needed to operate effectively, further exacerbating the already critical situation for those trapped in the besieged area.

The Civil Defense called on international organizations to fulfill their humanitarian obligations and protect the citizens of Jabalya, urging immediate action to alleviate the suffering and restore access to essential resources.

The humanitarian situation in Jabalya is deteriorating rapidly, with food, medical supplies, and water being blocked from entering the region. Emergency medical teams are struggling to reach the wounded and recover the bodies of those killed.

Israeli occupation forces attack Palestinians’ houses in southern West Bank refugee camp

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), October 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening attacked Palestinians’ houses in Al-Arroub refugee camp, north of the occupied West Bank city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that the occupation forces opened intensive gunfire towards Palestinians’ houses adjacent to the main street at the camp entrance, causing extensive damage.

Meanwhile, a convoy of occupation army vehicles barged their way into the Tell village, southwest of Nablus, where the soldiers broke into a local olive press and fired volleys of tear gas canisters towards farmers inside, forcing them to exit it immediately.

There was no immediate information on any casualties.

The occupation forces frequently conduct raids daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without a search warrant whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

Human Rights Commission says the situation of civilians in Gaza and Lebanon is getting worse

GENEVA, September, 12, 2024 (WAFA) –

The spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ravina Shamdasani, confirmed that the situation of civilians in Gaza and Lebanon is getting worse by the day.

Shamdasani pointed out in a press conference that the densely populated Lebanese capital Beirut is increasingly being subjected to Israeli airstrikes, which resulted so far in the killing of several civilians, including children and women, and caused a million people to flee their homes.

The spokesperson for the Human Rights Office highlighted the "continuing horrific humanitarian suffering in Gaza," noting that the Israeli occupation army has intensified its operations in northern Gaza, which has further isolated the area from the rest of the Strip and once again endangered the lives of civilians in the area.

She pointed to the raids, intensive shelling, gunship fire, and ground incursions that have targeted residential buildings and groups of residents in recent days, causing many injuries and the mass displacement of Palestinians from the area, in addition to the continued attacks on hospitals.

She indicated that the army continues to issue orders to Palestinians in northern Gaza to leave, and many of them remain trapped and unable to move safely.

Spanish premier urges the international community to halt arms sales to Israel, due to its ongoing violations of the international humanitarian laws

Saturday 12-October-2024

MADRID, (PIC)

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Friday urged the international community to urgently halt arms sales to Israel.

In a news conference, following his meeting with Pope Francis in Rome, Sanchez condemned Israel’s recent attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Sanchez described the incident as a “clear violation of international law” and emphasized the need to break the cycle of violence in the Middle East.

The Spanish leader highlighted his country’s commitment to peaceful diplomatic solutions in the region, in alignment with international law.

He further noted that, despite accusations from some opposition parties, his government had not approved any arms or military equipment sales to Israel since Oct. 8, 2023.

Sanchez reiterated that he would bring the issue of halting arms sales to Israel to the forefront of the international agenda.

“Israel’s violation of international humanitarian law, due to its occupation of Lebanon, must be addressed by the global community,” Sanchez stated, adding that an immediate cease-fire was necessary to prevent further escalation of violence.

Lazzarini: Destroying UNRWA is a war goal for Israel

Saturday 12-October-2024

NEW YORK, (PIC)

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that destroying the agency is almost one of the goals of the Israeli war on Gaza and all of Palestine.

At the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony, Lazzarini said that if UNRWA had been chosen for the award, “it would have represented a great message to the Palestinian refugee community.”

“UNRWA is not the only one being attacked, but throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, UN and international NGO employees are being gradually destroyed by the Israeli occupation.”

He further pointed out that “Israeli efforts aim to strip the Palestinians of their refugee status and unilaterally change the parameters of the future political solution.”

Nihon Hidankyo, the Japanese atomic bomb survivors’ group, has won the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize “for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.”

Water Authority: Fuel is urgently needed to operate wells, sewage stations in northern Gaza

Saturday 12-October-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Water Authority reported on Friday that only a limited amount of fuel, estimated at about 20,000 liters, was allowed to enter the war-torn Gaza Strip.

The Water Authority explained that these limited water quantities were only distributed to water facilities located within Gaza City, about ten wells and two sewage and rainwater pumping stations.

The Authority said it works extensively to maintain central sewage and rain stations’ operations, in light of the approaching winter.

The wastewater and rainwater pumping station in Al-Shaikh Radhwan pond was provided with 7,000 liters due to the presence of large quantities of wastewater and rain in it.

The Water Authority also stressed the extreme necessity to enter fuel to the northern Gaza Governorate in order to operate wells and sewage stations, as all of its facilities have stopped operating due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Jabalya in northern Gaza, which entered its second week.

The Israeli occupation army is launching a massive attack on Bait 'Hanoun, Bait Lahya and Jabalya for the sixth consecutive day, amid a tight siege on the northern Gaza Strip.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
