Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip:

By January 14, 2024, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 31,968+.

This includes the accounted for deaths (23,968) and those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on December 23, 2023: 8,000+).

By January 14, 2024, the documented injuries exceeded 60,582, and more than 2,520 civilians have been abducted from Gaza Strip.

By January 4, 2023, the death toll included 9,730+ children and 6,830+ women.

By January 14, 2024, there were 346 Palestinians who were killed, 3,609 who were injured, and 5,854, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023 (Some of the today's reported detained 5,875 have been released).

About 12,091 Palestinians, from both the West Bank and Gaza, have been detained in 2023. About half of them were detained after October 7. This included 1,085 children and 300 women.

The total number of detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of December was 8,800, and the number of administrative detainees was 3,291.

***

By January 9, 2023,  there was a complete destruction of 69,000+ housing units, and a partial destruction of 290,000+ housing units (60% of Gaza housing units). This forced about 1.5 million people to become homeless, taking refuge in crowded UN schools and ultimately sleeping in the streets.

The Israeli refusal to allow international aid caravans to enter Gaza freely led the Palestinian population to be on the verge of mass extermination for the lack of food, water, medicine, and fuel.

By January 9, 2024, 326 health personnel and 97 journalists were killed and hundreds were injured, 121 ambulances were destroyed while on duty, killing and injuring their crews, and destroyed 150 health institutions. As a result of the strikes and lack of fuel, 30 hospitals and 53 primary care centers are not functioning. In addition, 99 health personnel have been abducted by the invading Israeli occupation forces.

Meanwhile, 134 government offices and 95 schools and universities were completely destroyed, while 295 schools and universities were partially damaged.

138 mosques were completely destroyed, while 240 others were partially damaged, in addition to three churches.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza, which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

Lazzarini: 100 days in Gaza felt like 100 Years

Sunday 14-January-2024, NEW YORK, (PIC)

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that the past 100 days have felt like 100 years for the people of Gaza due to the Israeli military aggression. Lazzarini added in a statement, “The magnitude of death, destruction, displacement, hunger, loss, and sorrow in the past 100 days stains our common humanity.”

He pointed out that in the past 100 days, continuous shelling across Gaza has caused mass displacement of a community in a constant state of change, as they were uprooted and forced to leave places overnight, only to move to equally unsafe locations.

He affirmed that this is the largest displacement of the Palestinian people since 1948, affecting over 2 million individuals, which is the entire population of Gaza. He said, “Many of them will suffer physically and psychologically for life. The vast majority, including children, suffer severe psychological trauma.”

He highlighted that UNRWA’s overcrowded and unhealthy shelters have become a “home” for over 1.4 million people. He said, “They lack everything, from food to hygiene items to privacy. People live in inhumane conditions where diseases, including among children, are spreading. They are living in unstable conditions for human habitation, rapidly approaching famine.”

Lazzarini emphasized that the crisis in Gaza is a man-made catastrophe exacerbated by inhumane practices, including the use of food, water, and fuel as tools of war.

He stressed that humanitarian aid alone will not be sufficient to avert the looming famine, calling for the flow of commercial goods to be allowed and for the elimination of cumbersome procedures for aid entry into Gaza, as well as the obstacles hindering the safe and organized distribution of aid.

The UNRWA Commissioner-General noted that Israel disregards international humanitarian law, which was designed to protect civilians, warning of the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and UNRWA shelters, during the past three months, resulting in the killing of hundreds of civilians and injuring thousands.

He expressed regret that despite repeated appeals, the humanitarian ceasefire remains ineffective in stopping the killing of people in Gaza and enabling the safe delivery of food, medicine, water, and shelter.

As the winter season begins, he underlined that living conditions have deteriorated, especially for those living outdoors. He said, “Humanitarian workers, including 146 of my colleagues in UNRWA, as well as doctors, journalists, and children have been killed – no one has been spared. Entire residential neighborhoods, places of worship, and historical buildings have been demolished, eradicating centuries of history, civilization, and people’s memories.”

Lazzarini concluded by saying, “For the people of Gaza, the past 100 days have felt like 100 years.”

Occupation forces round up 40 Palestinians in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, Sunday, January 14, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces abducted at least 40 civilians from the West Bank in a wide-scale arrest campaign last night and this morning, according to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and the Detainee and Ex-Detainees Affairs Authority.

Fifteen individuals of those detained were workers from Gaza, apprehended by the occupation forces from the town of Bidya in the occupied West Bank province of Salfeet.

A joint statement by the two prisoner advocacy organizations revealed that the arrests were concentrated in the Hebron province, with additional detentions reported in Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Jenin.

In tandem with the detention raids, Israeli occupation forces continued a campaign of widespread raids and intimidation in cities, towns, and refugee camps, according to the statement. These actions have been accompanied by on-site interrogations involving dozens of civilians. Additionally, there were reports of extensive property damage and destruction in homes, infrastructure, and the confiscation of funds and vehicles.

The statement emphasized that the tally of Palestinians arrested by the Israeli occupation forces since October 7 has surged to approximately 5,875. This count includes individuals detained from their homes, at military checkpoints, those compelled to surrender under pressure, and individuals taken hostage.

Israeli occupation forces persist in executing systematic abduction campaigns as a key component of their apartheid policies. These campaigns have not only seen an unprecedented increase in the number of detainees but also in the severity of crimes committed.

Furthermore, the forces have intensified their incursions into the homes of detainees' families, often accompanied by extensive acts of sabotage and destruction.

Over 5,875 Palestinians detained in 100 days of Israeli aggression, says prisoner organization

RAMALLAH, Sunday, January 14, 2024 (WAFA) —

The Israeli occupation forces continue to intensify their campaigns of detention and implement further acts of torture against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, according to a statement released today by the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS).

Over the course of 100 days of aggression and coinciding with the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army has reportedly detained no less than 5,875 Palestinians from the West Bank since October 7. This figure includes individuals who have been detained, those still in custody, and those who were released later.

PPS highlighted in its statement that the arrest campaigns spared no specific population group, including women and children. Approximately 200 women have been subjected to detention, while the number of child detentions reached 355 by the end of last month.

Since October 7, the level of crimes committed by Israeli forces has taken an escalating trajectory in terms of brutality and horrifying details, as attested by the accounts of detainees and their families. Among the prominent offenses are cases of torture, blatant beating, direct threats of gunfire, on-site investigations, threats of rape, use of police dogs, the use of civilians as human shields and hostages, as well as extrajudicial executions.

The acts also extended to widespread sabotage targeting homes, confiscation of possessions, cars, money, gold jewelry, and electronic devices. Additionally, homes belonging to prisoners in Israeli jails were demolished and detonated. Israeli soldiers further engaged in photographing detainees after their arrest in conditions that undermine human dignity.

These crimes have left a profoundly dangerous impact on the fate of thousands of detainees and their families. The situation within the prisons has not fared any better, with the Israeli prison administration continuing to execute systematic crimes and policies against detainees. This includes imposing multiple forms of isolation, confiscating prisoners' belongings, subjecting them to torture, and committing mass assaults that resulted in several injuries among prisoners.

As winter sets in, the harsh conditions inside prisons, coupled with the laws imposed by the occupation since October 7, have intensified the hardships faced by prisoners, according to the statement. This has led to the sudden deaths of seven prisoners in Israeli custody as a result of the brutal torture.

PPS drew attention to the forced disappearances of detainees from Gaza, highlighting the fact that, after 100 days, the Israeli occupation refuses to disclose any information about their fate, exact numbers, or locations of detention.

The testimonies from released Gaza detainees have shed light on the level of criminality perpetrated against them in Israeli detention camps, revealing a high level of brutality in the treatment of these individuals.

IOF kidnaps Aruri’s sisters, other citizens during W. Bank raids

Sunday 14-January-2024, WEST BANK, (PIC)

Two sisters of deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Sali'h Al-'Aarouri, who was assassinated recently in an Israeli strike in Beirut, and a number of Palestinian citizens were kidnaped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during raids in the West Bank at dawn Sunday.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped 'Aaoruri’s sisters, Dalal and Fatima, after ransacking their homes in 'Arura town (northern Ramallah) and al-Bireh City.

In Nablus, two young citizens were kidnaped from their homes during an IOF raid in the city.

Another young man was kidnaped by Israeli forces from his home in Teqoa town, southeast of Bethlehem.

The IOF also stormed Al-'Arroub refugee camp and Dair Samit town in Al-Khaleel and al-Jalazoan refugee camp in northern Ramallah, with no reported arrests.

Local sources in Dair Samit reported that Israeli soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas canisters at local youths during clashes with them, turned a house into a military post and set up road barriers in the town’s central area.

In Jenin, armed clashes happened between Israeli forces and Palestinian resistance fighters during an IOF raid, which started last night and continued into Sunday morning.

The IOF reportedly bulldozed roads and destroyed private and public property during the raid in Jenin City and its refugee camp.

Palestinian journalists described the armed clashes in Jenin as “ferocious,” adding that the resistance fighters detonated explosive devices at IOF vehicles during the events.

Israeli occupation forces issue stop-building orders in village near Nablus

NABLUS, Sunday, January 14, 2024 (WAFA) —

Israeli occupation forces issued stop-building orders today and initiated the removal of mobile homes used by residents in the village of Furoush Bait Dajan, to the northeast of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

'Aazim Hajj Mu'hammed, the head of the Furoush Bait Dajan village council, said Israeli occupation forces broke the village earlier today and began distributing stop-building notices for several houses and orders for the removal of mobile homes in the village. The raid is reported to be ongoing.

This latest incident follows previous demolitions carried out by the occupation forces in the village a few weeks ago, targeting homes and structures. Furthermore, the village has recently received numerous demolition notices and stop-building orders.

Israel virtually prohibits construction in areas classified as Area C of the occupied West Bank, under full Israeli military and civilian control, leaving indigenous Palestinian communities with little options for construction to accommodate the natural population growth.
