Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip:

By February 3, 2024, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 34,238+.

This includes the accounted for deaths (27,238) and those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on January 31, 2024: 7,000+).

By February 3, 2024, the documented injuries exceeded 66,452, and more than 2,520 civilians have been abducted from Gaza Strip.

By January 17, 2024, about 661 detainees from Gaza are currently languishing in Israeli prisons as illegitimate combatants(the Israeli term for Palestinian fighters) in addition to more than 50 Gazan women detained in Damon prison, noting that 8 women of whom have been recently released.

By January 31, 2023, the death toll included 11,730+ children and 8,000+ women (more than 70% of the victims).

By February 2, 2024, there were 382 Palestinians who were killed, 3,632 who were injured, and 6,485, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023 (Some of the detainees have been released).

About 12,091 Palestinians, from both the West Bank and Gaza, have been detained in 2023. About half of them were detained after October 7. This included 1,085 children and 300 women.

The total number of detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of December was 8,800, and the number of administrative detainees was 3,291.

By January 9, 2023,  there was a complete destruction of 69,000+ housing units, and a partial destruction of 290,000+ housing units (60% of Gaza housing units). This forced about 1.5 million people to become homeless, taking refuge in crowded UN schools and ultimately sleeping in the streets.

The Israeli refusal to allow international aid caravans to enter Gaza freely led the Palestinian population to be on the verge of mass extermination for the lack of food, water, medicine, and fuel.

By January 31, 2024, 339 health personnel and 97 journalists were killed and hundreds were injured, 121 ambulances were destroyed while on duty, killing and injuring their crews, and destroyed 150 health institutions. As a result of the strikes and lack of fuel, 30 hospitals and 53 primary care centers are not functioning. In addition, 99 health personnel and 10 journalists have been abducted by the invading Israeli occupation forces.

Meanwhile, 134 government offices and 95 schools and universities were completely destroyed, while 295 schools and universities were partially damaged.

138 mosques were completely destroyed, while 240 others were partially damaged, in addition to three churches.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza, which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

Israeli war on the press: 122 Palestinian journalists martyred in Gaza

Saturday 3-February-2024, GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Media Forum stated that Israeli occupation forces have killed 122 journalists and destroyed dozens of media institutions and journalists’ homes since the start of their bloody aggression on Gaza four months ago.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Forum noted that the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip is entering its fifth month, marking the highest indicators of press freedom violations with the cold-blooded killing of 122 journalists over the course of 120 days. During this period, the Israeli occupation army has committed the worst genocide crimes against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, in addition to injuring dozens of journalists as a result of deliberate and intentional Israeli targeting.

The Forum also pointed out that Israel continues to detain many journalists who were arrested during its ground incursion into Gaza and its northern areas, confirming that testimonies from those who were released reveal the sadism and brutality of the Israeli occupation, which has practiced the most severe forms of torture against detainees.

It was stated that the traces of journalists, Nidhal Al-Wa'hidi and Haitham Abdul Wa'hid, are still missing since October 7, 2023.

The Forum also pointed out the French company that owns the satellite hosting Al-Aqsa TV channel has suspended its broadcast in response to pressure from the French government and submission to the pressures of the Israeli occupation government, without the slightest regard for international laws, humanitarian conventions, and human rights principles.

It also highlighted the Israeli army’s persistence in shelling and destroying the homes of dozens of journalists, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of numerous civilians.

The destruction and damage to the headquarters of dozens of media institutions, including international institutions such as Al Jazeera channel and the French News Agency office, were confirmed as a result of Israeli shelling. In addition, the broadcast of radio stations and local channels was penetrated as part of the psychological war on the Palestinian society.

The Forum pointed to the targeting of the infrastructure of the communication network and its disruption on several occasions, which limits the ability of media outlets and journalists to work and report on the events and developments in the Gaza Strip.

It affirmed that despite four months of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian journalist continues to write with blood for Palestine, recording the most magnificent epics of heroism and sacrifice in order to convey the injustice suffered by the Palestinian people to the whole world and expose the crimes of exterminating innocent civilians in their homes. The Israeli machinery of repression will not succeed in undermining the will of the Palestinian media knights.

The Forum held Israel fully responsible for the crimes of targeting journalists, condemning the destruction of media institutions and the targeting of journalists’ homes as part of Israel’s attempt to conceal its crimes against civilians from the eyes of the world.

The Arab and international media were called upon to intensify media coverage of the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the genocide crimes against civilians, and the imposition of a siege that has paralyzed basic and vital services.

The relevant institutions were urged to protect journalists, fulfill their role, and confront the Israeli targeting of Palestinian media in all its components.

Campaign tilted “the aggression continues; do not get used” launched for Gaza

Saturday 3-February-2024, GAZA, (PIC)

A campaign titled “The aggression continues; do not get used” has been launched to highlight the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for 120 days.

The campaign was launched on Saturday by a consortium of media groups and figures to alert the world to the importance of no becoming accustomed to the scenes of killing and destruction that have been happening on a daily basis in Gaza for four months.

“The hundreds of massacres and the watching of bloodshed behind the screens should not lead the viewer to believe that the scene of blood has become cold, because there is no cold except what the displaced feel in their tents in Rafah,” the organizers of the campaign said in a statement.

The organizers said they wanted to make day 120 of the Israeli aggression against Gaza a “station to break the silence, over the course of one week, and send a message to Gaza and its people that you are not alone and that we will not get used to the scene or become watchers, but rather we will remain actors.”

The campaign is slated to continue until next Friday and will include online activities and joint media events held by a number of media outlets.

The campaign also aims to make the media coverage of events in Gaza regain momentum as the Israeli massacres and the difficult humanitarian crisis persist in the midst of inaction from the international community.

Satellite images show 30% of structures in Gaza damaged

Saturday 3-February-2024, GENEVA, (PIC)

Satellite imagery analyzed by the United Nations Satellite Center shows that 30% of Gaza Strip’s buildings have been destroyed or damaged in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

“In total, a staggering 69,147 structures, equivalent to approximately 30% of the Gaza Strip’s total structures, are affected,” the United Nations Satellite Center, UNOSAT, said.

It added that 22,131 structures in the enclave have been identified as destroyed, with an additional 14,066 deemed severely damaged and 32,950 having sustained moderate damage.

Gaza Media Office (GMO) announced in previous statements that an estimated 70,000 housing units have been totally damaged and 290,000 housing units were partially destroyed and now uninhabitable in the Gaza Strip.

The satellite imagery was obtained on 6 -7 January 2024 and was compared to 6 images from 2023 with some of them dated before the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The Center reveals that the governorates of Gaza and Khan Younus have experienced the most significant increase in damage, witnessing 10,280 and 11,894 damaged structures respectively, compared with previous analysis based on imagery acquired on November 26.

By February 2, 2024, and since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, with the US and European support, resulting in the killing of 27,131 citizens and the injury of 66,287 others, in addition to the displacement of more than 85 percent (about 1.9 million people) of the Strip’s population.

Gaza Municipality warns of imminent threat of flooding from Sheikh Radhwan pond

Saturday 3-February-2024, GAZA, (PIC)

Gaza Municipality launched a distress call on Friday, warning against “a high risk of flooding from Shaikh Radhwan Pool” in Gaza City.

“Weeks after the appeals made about the risk of flooding from Shaikh Radhwan pond which has been filled with rainwater mixed with sewage, we trigger alarm, announcing concerns over the pond’s rising water levels. Imminent overflow threatens to submerge hundreds of homes in sewage as the pond has actually started overflowing,” the municipality said in a statement.

“This is added to the Israeli occupation’s destruction of most electricity generators, fuel tanks, and electrical cables, and the destruction of the main conveyor line. This has made water level reduction impossible and puts the lives of Palestinian citizens at risk,” it elaborated.

The municipality called for “immediate urgent intervention to provide necessary fuel, materials, and equipment to maintain the lines,” noting that they “need more than 200 meters of pipes with special specifications unavailable in the local market.”

The municipality indicated that “it has found itself unable to reduce the water level,” calling on the United Nations, its institutions, and all international organizations to “intervene in order to save the lives of Palestinian citizens who are exhausted by the war and cannot bear any other risks.”

Since October 7, Israeli occupation army has been waging a bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, with the US and European support, resulting in the killing of 27,131 martyrs and the injury of 66,287 people, in addition to the displacement of more than 85 percent (about 1.9 million people) of the Strip’s population.

Saturday 3-February-2024, CAIRO, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement said that head of its political bureau Ismail Haniyya discussed with secretary-general of Islamic Jihad Ziyad Al-Nakhala and deputy secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Jameel Mizhir the new ceasefire proposal over the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Friday, Hamas explained that Haniyya talked over the phone with Nakhala and discussed with him the field and political developments in the Palestinian arena, especially in the Gaza Strip.

Haniyya stressed that any ceasefire negotiations should lead to a complete end to the Israeli aggression, a comprehensive swap deal, the withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza, the lifting of the blockade, the reconstruction of what had been destroyed, and the provision of all vital needs for the population.

Haniyya and Nakhala affirmed that the resistance factions would always side with and protect the Palestinian people’s national interests.

They expressed their belief that the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in the face of the Israeli aggression, the bravery of the resistance and the political will would achieve the national aspirations for freedom, return and independence.

Haniyya also talked with Jameel Mizhir about the new ceasefire proposal, as part of his consultations with heads of the resistance factions.

The leaders of Hamas and the Popular Front discussed the developments of “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle in Gaza and stressed the need to protect the Palestinian people’s interests and honor their great sacrifices.

IOFs raid the West Bank areas, kidnap Palestinians

Saturday 3-February-2024, WEST BANK, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped a number of Palestinian citizens and assaulted some of them during raids in the West Bank, amid clashes with resistance fighters and local youths.

According to local sources, two young men identified as Asa'd Amr and 'Hosni Amr, residents of Ya’bad town in Jenin, were transported to hospital after the IOF detained and savagely assaulted them last night before releasing them later.

Woman in her fourth month of pregnancy remains in Israeli detention

RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 3, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces continue the detention of Basayil Khalid Abu Humaid, a 28-year-old woman from the city of Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank, who is currently in her fourth month of pregnancy.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) explained that Abu Humaid was arrested by Israeli occupation soldiers and taken as a hostage from her home two days ago, with the aim of pressuring her husband to surrender. The husband was later arrested after turning himself in.

PPS pointed out that despite Basayil's husband, Bakr Nabil Abu Rajab, turning himself in to the Israeli occupation authorities, the latter continue to detain the pregnant wife. Bakr Nabil Abu Rajab works as an ambulance driver for the Red Crescent, and his brother Musa, also an ambulance driver, was arrested as well.
