While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

WHO says gravely concerned over polio case in Gaza

GENEVA, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) —

The World Health Organization (WHO) has voiced its grave concern following the confirmation of a polio case in a 10-month-old infant in Dair El-Bala'h, Gaza. This marks the first reported case of polio in Gaza in 25 years.

In a press statement issued today, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, said WHO and partners have acted swiftly to collect samples from the infant and sent them to an accredited laboratory in the region. The genetic sequencing confirmed that the virus is linked to the type 2 poliovirus variant detected in sewage samples from Gaza in June.

Tedros detailed that the infant, who is currently in stable condition, has suffered paralysis in the lower part of his left leg. He emphasized the heightened risk of the virus spreading in Gaza and the broader region, noting the critical need for immediate action.

In response to this concerning development, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, along with WHO and UNICEF, is mobilizing efforts to launch two rounds of polio vaccination campaigns over the coming weeks. The goal is to halt the transmission of the virus and prevent further cases.

Around 100,000 Palestinian civilians forcibly displaced by the Israeli  occupation forces from Dair El-Bala'h amid intensified Israeli attacks

GAZA, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) —

Approximately 100,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from eastern Dair El-Bala'h in central Gaza over the past two days due to ongoing and intense Israeli airstrikes on the city and its surroundings.

Local sources reported that 20 shelter centers have been rendered inoperative due to the heavy bombardment and evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation military.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the occupation authorities have issued 16 evacuation orders between July 1 and August 21. Additionally, approximately 213,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from the beginning of August to the 16th of this month.

UN data indicates that 9 out of 10 people in Gaza have experienced displacement as a result of the Israeli attacks since the outbreak of the aggression in October 2023. The organization’s statistics further reveal that most residents of Gaza are compelled to relocate at least once a month due to the ongoing onslaught.

UNICEF: 19,000 orphaned Palestinian children in Gaza due massacring their parents by the Israeli genocidal war

GAZA, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) –

UNICEF spokesman Kadthim Abu Khalaf revealed today the suffering of children who lost their parents in the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip for more than 10 months.

Abu Khalaf emphasized that these children, who are often referred to as "unaccompanied children," are suffering deeply as a result of the aggression, whether the father is in the south, and the son remains with his mother in the north, or vice versa, or his parents were killed during the aggression.

According to the organization's official website, the spokesman indicated that "the number of unaccompanied children in Gaza is a purely estimated number, because we cannot accurately determine the numbers."

He added, "from our experience as an institution working in war and conflict zones in the world, there is a percentage of 1 percent of the total number of unaccompanied children, whose father or mother may be alive, or orphans."

Abu Khalaf confirmed that there are 1.9 million displaced people in Gaza, and therefore, the estimated number is 19 thousand unaccompanied children who may be orphans or whose parents were separated from them by the war.

It is worth noting that in cases where there is no family reunification, or the child has become an orphan, there is the extended family, whether cousins or maternal uncles and grandmothers or grandfathers, who take care of the children and provide care until things improve, and support is provided to them.

'Hamas: Burning the Holy Quran and desecrating mosques confirm the fascist nature of Israel

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement said “burning copies of the Holy Quran at the hands of Zionist Israeli soldiers after storming and desecrating the Bani Sali'h Mosque in the northern Gaza Strip, along with the destruction of other mosques in the Strip, points to the nature of this extremist occupation entity and its soldiers who are full of hatred and criminality, and their fascist behavior towards everything related to the Islamic identity of the nation and its sanctities.”

The Movement indicated in a press statement on Saturday, that “the Israeli occupation soldiers boasting about their heinous crime on social media clearly indicates a systematic criminal policy run by the Nazi occupation government aimed at continuing the brutal war of extermination against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and all aspects of life there.”

'Hamas appealed to the masses of the Muslim and Arab nation, organizations, and the free people of the world to express anger and condemnation over the fascist Zionist behavior, to defend the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Palestine, to stop the genocide against the people in the Gaza Strip, and to support the steadfastness of the people and their valiant resistance.

Earlier, Al-Jazeera published footage obtained from Israeli occupation soldiers and drones showing violations against mosques in Gaza.

The footage showed Israeli soldiers storming the Bani Saleh Mosque in the northern Gaza Strip and then tearing up and burning copies of the Quran, the Muslims’ holy book, inside the mosque.

The footage also showed Israeli soldiers blowing up the Grand Mosque in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, one of the oldest mosques in the Strip, built 96 years ago.

Gaza Municipality: 60% of Gaza’s area lacks water

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Gaza Municipality said the Israeli destruction of water facilities and the desalination plant as well as the power shortage crisis in Gaza has caused water shortage in 60% of the city’s area.

The quantities of water pumped to the city are very scarce due to the lack of fuel needed to operate water wells, as more than half of the city’s area suffers from a large water scarcity, especially in the north and southwest Gaza regions, the municipality explained in a press statement on Saturday.

It added that the currently available water covers about 40% of the total area of Gaza City, noting that the amount currently available is estimated at about 25,000 cups per day, with about 20,000 of which is from Mekorot water line, while the remaining quantity, which is estimated at about 5,000 cups per day, is produced by operating about 20 wells for a limited time of few hours.

The municipality reported that the Israeli war of genocide on the Gaza Strip destroyed 90,000 longitudinal meters of water networks and 62 wells of different sizes, which caused a severe and large thirst crisis in several areas of Gaza City.

Gaza: The Israeli occupation army reduced safe zones to 35km

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian civil defense service in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation army drastically reduced the “safe humanitarian zones” in the Gaza Strip from 230 square kilometers in November 2023 to just 35 square kilometers by August 2024.

The Israeli occupation forces have turned the designated “safe humanitarian zones” within the Gaza Strip into heaps of rubble and ashes, leaving only 9.5 percent of the territory as so-called “safe zones” for displaced civilians, according to a statement by the civil defense service on Saturday.

“At the onset of Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza in early November 2023, Israeli forces pushed hundreds of thousands of civilians from northern Gaza to southern Gaza, claiming these areas were ‘safe humanitarian zones.’”

“Initially, these zones covered 230 square kilometers (89 square miles) or 63 percent of Gaza’s total area, including agricultural land and commercial, economic, and service facilities spread across 120 square kilometers (46 square miles).”

“As the Israeli military offensives continued, the size of these so-called safe zones shrank dramatically,” the statement added.

The civil defense service explained that by early December 2023, following the Israeli army’s incursion into Khan Younus in southern Gaza, the designated humanitarian areas were reduced to 140 square kilometers (54 square miles), accounting for 38.3 percent of Gaza’s total area. These areas included some agricultural land as well as economic, commercial, and service establishments.

“Further reductions occurred in May 2024, during Israel’s incursion into Rafa'h, when the humanitarian zone shrank to 79 square kilometers (30.5 square miles), or 20 percent of Gaza’s total area.”

“By mid-June 2024, the zone was reduced to 60 square kilometers (23 square miles), accounting for just 16.4 percent of Gaza’s total area. The area encompassed roads, streets, service areas, and even cemeteries, none of which could be considered truly safe havens for displaced civilians.”

“In mid-July 2024, the area deemed “safe” by the Israeli forces was reduced again, this time to 48 square kilometers (18.5 square miles), or 13.15 percent of Gaza’s total area.”

“Finally, as of August 2024, the Israeli army has reduced these ‘safe humanitarian zones’ to a mere 35 square kilometers (13.5 square miles), or 9.5 percent of Gaza’s total area. This zone includes only about 3.5 percent of agricultural, service, and commercial areas, further shrinking the spaces where civilians can seek refuge,” the service said, highlighting how Israeli forces systematically destroyed the “safe zones”.

The ongoing reduction of these safe zones has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as civilians have fewer places to escape Israel’s relentless attacks on them.

Footage documenting IOFs burning copies of Holy Quran in Gaza mosque

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Footage released on Friday showed Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) storming mosques in the besieged Gaza Strip and burning copies of the Holy Quran in one of them.

Al-Jazeera TV said it obtained the footage from video taken by Israeli soldiers and drones that were found in Gaza.

The footage also showed Israeli soldiers blowing up the Grand Mosque in Khan Younus, in the southern Gaza Strip, one of the oldest mosques in the Strip, built 96 years ago.

Israeli warplanes had previously destroyed the historic Great 'Omari Mosque in the Old City of Gaza, which is one of the oldest mosques in the world.

In the course of the Israeli occupation army’s 11-month aggression on Gaza, hundreds of mosques have been partially or completely destroyed.

'Hamas: Displacement warnings in central Gaza aimed at ethnic cleansing

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement said the Israeli occupation army’s issuance of displacement warnings to citizens in central Gaza, especially in Al-Maghazi refugee camp, the village of Al-Musaddar, and large areas of the city of Dair Al-Bala'h, which are overcrowded with hundreds of thousands of displaced people from the north and the south of the Strip, is aimed at deepening the Gazans’ ordeal, and a continuing genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes being carried out with US political and military cover.

The Movement stressed in a press statement on Saturday that Israel’s claims on the presence of safe zones in Gaza are mere lies and misleading allegations, as thousands of the martyrs have been killed in shelters and displacement centers, schools, institutions, and tent gatherings that had been declared as safe humanitarian zones.

Since the beginning of August, the Israeli occupation forces have issued several displacement orders affecting more than 250,000 people in Khan Younus, Central Gaza, and North Gaza.

US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters Day 323

Saturday 24-August-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 323 on Saturday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes and shelter centers and attack citizens in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours.

According to media sources, an Israeli airstrike targeted a house in Ma'an area in the southeast of Khan Younus, killing four civilians and wounding others.

Another Israeli attack on a house in al-Madrasa street in Al-Amal neighborhood in Khan Younus claimed the lives of 11 citizens and injured others.

Civil defense and medical crews were able today to retrieve bodies of 12 martyrs from 'Hamad City in the northwest of Khan Younus after Israeli forces partially withdrew from the area.

Five civilians, including two women, suffered bullet injuries after an Israel drone opened fire at tents sheltering displaced families near Salahuddeen road in Dair El-Bala'h City in central Gaza.

Three people were also martyred and others were injured in an Israeli attack on an apartment in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli artillery shelling kills eight-month-old toddler and her mother in Al-Buraij refugee camp

GAZA, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli artillery shelling today hit a house in Al-Buraij refugee camp in the central war-torn Gaza Strip, killing an eight-month-old toddler and her mother and injuring others, according to a medical source in Al-'Awda Hospital.

The source said that the bodies of a toddler along with her mother, who were both killed in Israeli artillery shelling in Buriej camp, were transferred to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the northern areas of Khan Younus in the southern Strip revealed large-scale destruction of civilians’ residential buildings and properties.

The destruction was particularly severe in 'Hamad City, a neighborhood northwest of the city, with scores of apartments demolished and towers flattened, as confirmed by eyewitnesses.

They added that dozens of residential buildings were leveled and reduced to rubble in the northern areas of the city and civilians’ lands and properties were razed.

They pointed out that first aid and rescue teams were busy searching for missing persons in the areas invaded and targeted by the Israeli army.

They added several bodies and dismembered remains were recovered and transported to the Nasir Medical Complex in the city.

This came as medical sources announced that the bodies of 60 civilians who were killed since dawn Saturday and over the past two days in the southern Strip in addition to the bodies of 11 others killed in other parts of the Strip were transported to the Nasir Medical Complex.

The Israeli invasion of north Khan Younus has resulted in the forceful displacement of thousands of civilians from their houses to the western areas of the city as well as to the central Strip.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 40,334 Palestinians, mostly children and women, and injuring over 93,356 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

NABLUS, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) —

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, its teams responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to the boy, who sustained gunshot wounds to both legs during the confrontations that erupted following the military raid on the town.

Local sources added that Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian whose identity remains unknown at this time.

Bait Foureek has been experiencing near-daily incursions by Israeli occupation forces, contributing to ongoing tensions in the region.

Israeli forces detain ten Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli occupation forces today detained ten Palestinians from various parts of the occupied West Bank, according to security and local sources.

They said that the occupation forces physically assaulted a girl in the vicinity of Bab Al-Sahira in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), prompting a young man to intervene to defend her.

The soldiers assaulted the young man before detaining him together with two girls.

In the Salfeet governorate, the occupation forces rounded up a Palestinian from the Al-Zawiya town.

In the Toulkarm governorate, the occupation forces showed up at a house in the Dair Al-Ghusoun town, broke inside, conducted a thorough search and eventually detained a resident.

In the Nablus governorate, a convoy of military vehicles stormed Tell village, where the gun-toting soldiers detained a villager and ransacked his house, turning it upside down.

In the predawn hours of today, the occupation forces barged their way into the city of Nablus, deploying in the city neighborhoods and streets, firing live ammunition and concussion grenades, and re-kidnapping a former prisoner.

The soldiers conducted a similar raid in Bait Iba, a town to the west of Nablus, resulting in re-arresting a former prisoner.

In the Jenin governorate, the heavily armed soldiers manning Checkpoint 17, which leads from ‘Aseerah Al-Shamaliyah, Zawata and other villages to Nablus, stopped and detained two Palestinians; a former prisoner and a resident of the Burqeen town.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Al-Dhameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,900 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 250 child prisoners and 86 female prisoners.

This number includes approximately 3,423 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Al-Dhameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one.

Israeli forces erect checkpoints in Ramallah governorate

RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces erected several checkpoints in the occupied West Bank governorate of Ramallah, according to security sources.

They said that the occupation forces set up a checkpoint close to Al-Rawabi Circle, north of Ramallah, as well as at the entrances of the villages of 'Abboud and Ras Karkar, north and west of the city, stopping vehicles with Palestinian registration plates and inspecting passengers’ identity cards.

There was no immediately available information on any detention case.

Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions.

Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.

Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.

Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.

Illegal Israeli settlers set up tents on Palestinian lands southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem)

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) —

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers set up tents this afternoon on Palestinian lands in the village of Al-Maniya, located southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem) in the southern West Bank, according to local sources.

Zaid Kawazba, the head of the Al-Maniya Village Council, reported that the colonists set up three tents to the east of the village, with the intention of seizing the land for their colonial ambitions.

Recently, Israeli colonists have intensified their attacks on farmers in Al-Maniya, including seizing wheat, barley, and lentil crops, as well as agricultural equipment.

The installation of mobile homes by the colonists is part of a broader pattern of encroachment and land appropriation by Israeli authorities and colonists in the area.

Illegal Israeli settlers burn olive trees south of Nablus

NABLUS, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (WAFA) —

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers set fire today to dozens of ancient olive trees in the village of Seera, located west of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources reported that a group of colonists ignited fires across extensive areas of the village’s land, leading to the destruction of numerous centuries-old olive trees.

This act of vandalism is part of a broader pattern of ongoing violence and harassment by Israeli colonists in the region. This includes the burning and uprooting of trees, attacks on homes, and the establishment of military checkpoints that hinder the movement of local residents.

Since October 7, colonists have significantly intensified their attacks, carrying out a total of 1,334 incidents across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since the beginning of this year.

These acts are part of a larger campaign of terror aimed at displacing and intimidating Palestinian communities, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian situation in the occupied territories.
