On Day 82 of US-Backed Israeli Genocidal War on Gaza Strip, 16 Massacres, Raising Palestinian Death Toll to  21,110 and 55,243 Injuries

December 27, 2023

***

Editor's Notes:

Here are some initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip:

By December 27, 2023, the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip is 28,110+.

This includes the accounted for deaths (21,110) and those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on December 23, 2023: 7,000+).

By December 27, 2023, the documented injuries exceeded 55,243, and more than 2,520 civilians have been abducted from Gaza Strip (80 mutilated corpses were returned on 12/27/23).

By December 27, 2023, there were 313 Palestinians who were killed, 3,505 who were injured, and 4,802, who were abducted by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, since October 7, 2023.

***

By December 24, 2023, the death toll included 8,200+ children and 6,200+ women.

By December 24 2023,  there was a complete destruction of 55,000+ housing units, and a partial destruction of 258,000+ housing units (60% of Gaza housing units). This forced about 1.5 million people to become homeless, taking refuge in crowded UN schools and ultimately sleeping in the streets.

The Israeli refusal to allow international aid caravans to enter Gaza freely led the Palestinian population to be on the verge of mass extermination for the lack of food, water, medicine, and fuel.

By December 21, 2023, 99 health personnel were killed and hundreds were injured, 102 ambulances were destroyed while on duty, killing and injuring their crews, and destroyed 56 health institutions. As a result of the strikes and lack of fuel, 23 hospitals and 53 primary care centers are not functioning.

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.

In light of Israel’s withholding of Palestinian tax revenues, public employees to receive only 65% of November salary

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 (WAFA) -

The Palestinian Ministry of Finance announced today that in light of the Israeli occupation regime continuous withholding of the Palestinian tax revenues and following an arrangement between the government, the Palestinian Monetary Authority, and the banks, it was decided to pay only 65% of the November salary for the public employees.

Last month, the public employees received only 50% of their salaries with the Finance Ministry promising to pay all unpaid dues to the employees once the financial crisis is over.

Israel’s fascist and racist far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich vowed after October 7 not to pay any of the tax revenues collected by Israel on behalf of the Palestinian Authority on goods destined to the Palestinian areas and entering through the Israeli ports, which amount to around $200 million every month, and which are mainly used to pay the employees salaries.

UN official expresses grave concern over continued bombardment of Middle Gaza

GENEVA, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 (WAFA) -

UN Human Rights Office spokesperson Seif Magango, expressed grave concern about the continued bombardment of Middle Gaza by Israeli forces, which has claimed more than 100 Palestinian lives since Christmas Eve.

Commenting on the continued bombardment of Middle Gaza, Magango said it is particularly concerning that this latest intense bombardment comes after Israeli forces ordered residents from the south of Wadi Gaza to move to Middle Gaza and Tal al-Sultan in Rafah.

The Israeli Air Force reportedly carried out more than 50 strikes across Middle Gaza on 24-25 December, including on three refugee camps, Al Bureij, Al-Nuseirat, and Al-Maghazi. Two strikes hit seven residential buildings in the Al-Maghazi camp, killing an estimated 86 Palestinians and injuring many more. An unknown number of people are still believed to be trapped under the rubble.

The combined death toll from the strikes in the Al-Maghazi and Al-Bureij camps has since risen to at least 131, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), amid a deepening and already catastrophic humanitarian situation.

All roads connecting the three camps have been destroyed, obstructing relief aid from reaching those in need, and shelters and hospitals still minimally operating are critically overcrowded and under-resourced.

“We restate our warning that all attacks must strictly adhere to the principles of international humanitarian law, including distinction, proportionality, and precaution in attack. Israeli forces must take all measures available to protect civilians. Warnings and evacuation orders do not absolve them of the full range of their international humanitarian law obligations,” he said.

Palestinian Government Media Office accuses Israel of stealing organs from 80 martyrs’ bodies

Wednesday 27-December-2023, GAZA, (PIC)

The Government Media Office in Gaza revealed that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) handed over mutilated bodies of 80 Palestinian martyrs after stealing their organs, calling for forming an independent international committee to investigate into this crime.

In coordination with the UN, the bodies of 80 Palestinians, who had already been killed and later detained on October 27 by the IOF in northern Gaza, were handed over by the Israeli army inside a cargo container at the Karm Abu Salim border crossing on Tuesday.

“After examining the bodies, it became evident that the martyrs’ features had changed significantly, which clearly indicated that the occupation army had stolen vital organs from the bodies of these martyrs,” the Media Office said.

The Media Office added that the bodies were unidentified and the Israeli army refused to specify the names of the martyrs or the places from which they were taken.

The Media Office strongly denounced the Israeli army’s desecration of these bodies.

The Media Office accused the Israeli army of detaining the bodies of civilians it had killed several times during its genocidal war on Gaza, affirming that Israeli forces already disinterred bodies from graves in Jabalya (northern Gaza).

“Israel is still holding bodies of dozens of martyrs from Gaza,” the Media Office said, calling for forming an independent committee to investigate the Israeli army’s abduction of martyrs’ bodies and its stealing of their vital organs.

US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters day 82

Wednesday 27-December-2023, GAZA, (PIC)

As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 82 on Wednesday, massive aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and level whole blocks and homes and massacre more civilians, mostly children and women.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to attack different areas of Gaza last night and on Wednesday morning, targeting homes, civilian gatherings, and shelter centers and massacring dozens of citizens.

The Israeli artillery continued to bombard areas in the city of Khan Younus, while sounds of violent clashes were heard.

Local sources reported hearing the sounds of explosions resulting from clashes and Israeli artillery shelling in the areas of Al-Shaikh Radhwan and the areas of western and central Jabalya.

The Israeli aircraft bombed a house for the Abu 'Adwan family, east of the city of Rafa'h.

The occupation forces continue their incursions into several areas in the Gaza Strip, amid fierce clashes taking place in those areas.

Our correspondents reported that the Israeli occupation forces are carrying out horrific crimes inside the incursion areas, including field executions, raiding, looting and destroying homes and facilities, and besieging thousands of citizens in their homes and depriving them of food, water, or health services. There are injuries and martyrs in homes and streets, and medical teams cannot recover them. The occupation forces carry out random arrests against citizens, including widespread abuse.

20,915 Palestinians killed in 82-day Israeli aggression

Wednesday 27-December-2023,

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation army committed 18 horrific massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 241 civilians and injuring over 382 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or on roads.

In a statement issued Tuesday evening, the health ministry added that the death toll from Israeli bombardments in Gaza has risen to 20,915, mostly women and children, while the number of wounded has climbed to over 55,000 people.

Spokesman for the ministry, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, voiced concern that attacking the area around the Nasser Medical Complex would mimic the tactics used by the occupation against the Shifa Medical Complex and hospitals in the northern part of Gaza.

Al-Qidra urged international organizations to protect the medical personnel, patients, injured, and thousands of internally displaced individuals at the Nasser Medical Complex.

He also urged international organizations to take immediate action to guarantee the supply of fuel and medications required to reopen the Shifa Medical Complex.

Dozens of Palestinian civilians killed in Israeli genocidal bombardment on sites in Gaza Strip

GAZA, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 (WAFA) –

Dozens of Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, were killed, and others were wounded, in a series of raids launched by occupation warplanes on Wednesday, on various sites in the Gaza Strip, for the 82nd consecutive day of the aggression.

The occupation aircraft launched violent raids targeting the central region of the Gaza Strip, especially Al-Buraij and Al-Maghazi camps, where the shells reached shelter centers.

According to eyewitnesses, there are a number of slain citizens still lying on the ground, and ambulances and civil defense crews cannot reach them, due to the intensity of the bombing.

Al-Nusayrat camp saw bombardment by occupation artillery and warplanes, which targeted a house for the Nassar family in the new camp, and another house for the Al-'Hazouqi family, which killed a number of citizens, and wounded dozens of people with various injuries. They were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs and Al-'Awda Hospitals.

The areas east of the city of Rafa'h, Al-Fukhari, and the eastern areas of Khan Younus in the south of the Gaza Strip are also under artillery shelling in various parts there.

The occupation aircraft and artillery bombed Gaza City, especially the Al-Shuja'iya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods, and also targeted a house in the Al-Kateeba area, and there are reports of martyrs and wounded.

Eyewitnesses reported that more than 60 citizens were missing as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted a three-story residential building near Al-Azhar University in Gaza City.

In the Al-Saftawi area in Gaza City, 6 people were killed and transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital as a result of sniper operations carried out by occupation soldiers who mounted some buildings and targeted everyone who moved there.

The Jabalya al-Balad region and the northern Gaza Strip, especially in Bait Lahya and Bait 'Hanoun, are also subjected to heavy bombardment by Israeli artillery and aircraft. There is a lack of information due to communications and Internet outages in some areas.

Al-Buraij camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip was also subjected to intense and continuous artillery shelling.

This is the seventh time that the occupation forces have cut off communications and the Internet from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, by disconnecting international lines.

Ooredoo also announced that it has stopped its services in the center and south of the Strip, and will continue partially in the north.

The interruption of communications and the Internet is accompanied by an escalation in the massacres committed by the occupation forces against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the disruption of efforts to rescue and treat citizens, as the number of martyrs since the beginning of the aggression has risen to more than 19,650, in addition to about 52,600 wounded, and thousands of missing persons, in a non-final toll.

The occupation deliberately caused significant disruption to communications and Internet networks inside the camp, while sounds of explosions were heard in the area.

The Fatah movement in Tulkarm mourned the slain youths of Nour Shams camp who were killed in a new massacre carried out by the occupation.

Fatah Secretary Iyad Al-Jarad declared that today, Wednesday, the city will be observing a comprehensive strike in Tulkarm Governorate, including all aspects of life, to mourn the slain youths.

It is noteworthy that this is the second Israeli raid in Tulkarm within 24 hours, which resulted in the destruction of citizens’ property and the bombing of their homes.
